In the mood for some Chinese? Chinese food at a restaurant is so good, I used to love it so much until I learned about what was in it and how many calories it has in it. Here is a yummy recipe to try!
Time=40 minutes
Serves=2-3
Meat
1 lb flank steak or steak, cut into small strips
Produce
3 cups small broccoli florets
5 cloves garlic minced
Other
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon canola oil
½ cup low sodium soy sauce
¼ cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoon cornstarch
½ cup beef broth
(I like to add some cayenne pepper and turmeric)
Instructions
Put cut up beef in a big bowl with corn starch
Heat up canola oil in a large pan over medium heat for a couple minutes. Then, add sliced beef and cook it until it is brown for a few minutes. Making sure you stir it occasionally! After it is done, move it to another plate or dish.
Next, add garlic and broccoli to the pan and stir it up! Add beef broth. Let simmer until the broccoli is tender. It will take about 10-12 minutes and make sure you stir it frequently.
While you are waiting for the broccoli to be done, combine all of the sauce ingredients in a bowl and make sure you mix them well.
-½ cup low sodium soy sauce
-¼ cup light brown sugar
-2 teaspoons cornstarch
5. Add the beef and sauce to the pan, and stir. Let it simmer for about 5-6 minutes, make sure has gotten thick.
6. Last, put beef and broccoli over cooked brown rice! Enjoy!
